Having lived in Southeast Asia for five years, I developed a keen interest for the ancient Chinese art and science known as Feng Shui. Literally translated, Feng Shui means “wind” and “water” two elements associated with abundant harvest and good health which over time evolved to mean good livelihood and fortune. This way of life enables individuals to balance the energies surrounding them resulting in good health and good fortune.
Think of the flow of energy throughout your living space like a cool breeze flowing through your home on a beautiful spring day. The comfort you feel at that moment when the breeze touches your skin and you breathe in the fresh spring air, should resonate throughout your home when you experience the art of placement allowing the energy to flow through your space leaving a sense of calm, serenity and contentment about.
There are many complexities to Feng Shui but the basic concept is to clear away clutter in your home and life to make way for the unobstructed flow of positive energy or CHI, as it is known, to move about freely to enhance your life.
Feng Shui provides a myriad of “cures” to improve not only your life but also your home and the harmony shared between the two. It is particularly helpful if you are trying to sell your home.
